New! Summer 2012 Civic Leaders Fellowship Program - Designed for college-age students, the Civic Leaders Fellowship Program pairs students with area non-profit, government and business organizations for six-weeks paid summer employment and a program of civic and business experiences. For details, interested students should see the Guidelines and Fellowship Application under “Find Grants” in the "Applications and Forms" section. Area employers of all kinds are invited to submit Placement Proposals to host Fellows. Host Guidelines and a Placement Proposal Application are also under “Find Grants” in the "Applications and Forms" section. Application Deadline is March 14, 2012

Our Stories
Our Community's Foundation is the sum of its stories, with the heartfelt concern of local citizens in each fund. Irene and Bert Conaway of Harrisville annually hold a "Scholars Luncheon" at North Bend State Park. They encourage "their" students to do their best and their "family" grows with each recipient. In the News
Judy Sjostedt, Executive Director of Our Community's Foundation, was recently honored by the West Virginia Grantmakers Association with its "2010 Spirit of Philanthropy Staff Leadership Award." In presenting this recognition, Shannon Cunningham, President of West Virginia Grantmakers cited Sjostedt's volunteer service as a member of the National Council on Foundations Community Foundations Leadership Team; the training program she developed for OCF's Board and volunteers; her service as a founding board member of the WVG and former chairman; and her willingness to serve as a mentor for other foundation staff in West Virginia and across the nation. Sjostedt was nominated for the award by Linda McLean, a "retired" PACF Board member.
