Ritchie County Community Foundation
RCCF is OUR Community’s Foundation. It is a nonprofit public charity formed
by local citizens to build permanent, dedicated resources to benefit Ritchie County residents,
causes, and nonprofit organizations now and far into the future. We create permanent charitable
funds called endowments that supply resources to make grants that meet important community
needs and supply scholarships for local students.
We are managed by a local advisory board of Ritchie County citizens. We have chosen
to affiliate with the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF), a well-respected
local Foundation that has provided deserving students with scholarships, worthy
organizations with grants, and delivered charitable resources to our region since
1963. Our affiliate relationship brings us shared administrative and investment
services and professional staff expertise, while letting us focus exclusively on
developing resources for our county – Ritchie County – and our unique needs and
vision of our future.
RCCF provides a lasting, local, flexible, and easy way to support our community.
The Foundation is a public charity, tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code; donors receive the maximum possible tax advantages for gifts.
RCCF can accept many different types of gifts – you can contribute cash, securities,
real estate, life insurance, tangible property, make a bequest in a will, create a charitable
remainder or lead trust, or use other types of deferred giving. We welcome the opportunity to
work with donors to explore all giving options. Donors can contribute any amount for unrestricted
purposes (for use in community grantmaking); make a gift in honor of or in memory of a loved one;
add to an existing fund to strengthen it; or even set up their own named funds to provide funding
for charitable causes that are important to them. With a certain minimum sum, donors can create
their own fund, which allows one to name the fund and establish the charitable purpose and use
of the fund.
To contribute any cash to any existing RCCF fund or for use in community grantmaking, please
mail checks to the Ritchie County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 178, Harrisville, WV 26362. To
contribute stock (or other types of assets), please call the Foundation’s Executive Director,
Judy Sjostedt, toll free at 1-866-428-4438 for information and instructions.

inquiries from persons interested in helping Ritchie County causes and organizations.
RCCF’s volunteer advisory board is made up of local business and community leaders to oversee
all Foundation activities. Current RCCF Board members include Board Chairman Ed Cokeley and members
Suzanne Hadley, Irene Conaway, Stephanie Hayhurst-Hall, Russell Rogerson, Jean Freeland, April Haught,
Woody Ireland, Norma Hilvers and Kathy Frederick. The RCCF Board works in conjunction with the Board
of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation through our status as an affiliate and has a Board seat
on the PACF Board as a part of our partnership for the good of our region.
