Jackson County 4-H Foundation Fund

The Jackson County 4-H Foundation established the Jackson County 4-H Foundation Fund at the Jackson County Community Foundation in 2006. This fund will provide scholarships for area 4-H members to attend county and statewide camps and provide assistance for 4-H programs in the county.

“Having this fund at the Community Foundation will help us increase community awareness and build financial support for our efforts to support the continuation and growth of 4-H in the county,” said Jo Raines, former Board President for the 4-H Foundation.

“We are pleased to work with the 4-H Foundation to assist its volunteers with their efforts to grow funds to support 4-H activities. We encourage the community to support the 4-H Foundation Fund. Through our partnership with the 4-H Foundation, we hope to expand youth development opportunities for 4-H members and leaders by building awareness and continued support for this permanent community fund,” said Jane Winters, JCCF Representative.

Memorial gifts from loyal 4-H supporters “Dude” Cunningham and Steve Fowler were used to establish the Jackson County 4-H Foundation in 1981. The 4-H Foundation’s purpose was to work with the Center for Extension and Continuing Education of West Virginia in the development of Jackson County youth through 4-H activities by providing additional financial support to insure the continuation of 4-H programs which are not supported by public monies.
