The Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation Fund was established through a challenge grant awarded to Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation from the Gordon C. and Mildred R. Jackson Foundation. Its challenge was to raise $5,000 by December 31, 2007, to establish a fund with the Mason County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. The purpose of the fund is to help support the Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation in helping to meet the health care needs of the citizens of Mason County.
In 2006, the Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation was able to successfully complete this match, and established the Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation Fund. In December of 2006, the Jackson Foundation awarded the Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation for its success with $5,000 in matching monies to put in the fund.
“We were elated to have the Jackson Foundation match our challenge in the development of the Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation Fund,” said Amy J. Leach, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Pleasant Valley Hospital. “It is a win-win situation. It is a win for PVH because it provided a major boost in our efforts to partner with the Mason County Community Foundation, and a win for the Jackson Foundation because it increased the charitable resources available in the community.”
