Info for Grant Seekers
Our Community's Foundation works to meet the needs of the communities that we serve through the Community Action Grants program, a competitive grant application process. Community Action Grants help organizations by supporting vital projects in the fields of Arts and Culture, Education, Health and Human Services, Community and Economic Development, Youth and Family Services and Recreation.

Please use your time wisely - verify that your organization and/or project is eligible for a Foundation grant BEFORE submitting an application.

STEPS IN THE GRANTS PROCESS

  1. Complete the Quick Eligibility Quiz below to confirm that your organization may be eligible to request a grant.
  1. Read the detailed Guidelines to learn about the process and to ensure that your project qualifies for consideration.

  1. Once you have confirmed that it is appropriate to submit an application, select a version of the Foundation's Application to use (PDF or MS Word). The forms are identical. Please complete whichever version you find easiest.

PACF and the Affiliates use a common grant application and coordinated grant process; applicants complete this one form to be considered by all entities that are part of the foundation.

Our staff is available to help you to understand the grants process and for presentations to groups on topics such as grant writing and finding resources, as time permits. To request help, use the Contact Us link on this page to communicate with the Program and Development Officer, to whom all inquiries related to Foundation grants, regardless of the applicant's location, should be directed.

Quick Eligibility Quiz for Grant Seekers
  1. Will the application be made on behalf of an organization or an individual?

The Foundation does not make grants to individuals except students who may qualify for Scholarship consideration. If you represent an organization, please proceed to Question 2.

  2. Is your organization a private, non-profit organization that is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or a public institution (school, municipality/government, church, for example)?

We can only make grants for purposes that legally qualify as “charitable." If your organization is a 501(c)(3) organization or a public institution, please proceed to Question 3.

  3. Is your organization or the program/project you propose for funding physically located in one (or more) of the following Foundation service area counties: Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, Pleasants, Mason, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, Wood (West Virginia); or, in Washington County, Ohio?

Our Community Action Grants program does not make grants to organizations/programs outside of the Foundation’s service region. If your organization or if the program/project you propose for funding is physically within one or more of the listed counties, please review our Guidelines to learn more about types of funding available and consider making an Application. You may be eligible for consideration.
